Abstract
Early active and passive mobilization helps reduce edema, encourages active tendon gliding, and prevents joint stiffness after injury and operative intervention of the hands. It also enhances tensile strength of the newly repaired tendons, soft tissues, or fractured site, minimizing scar adhesion. Corrective splintage and pressure garments contribute to an effective outcome.
