Abstract
The results of research on consciousness and its altered states have convinced a community of scientists that consciousness is an important phenomenon. Chapters presenting these topics can be found in most of current textbooks of general psychology. Unfortunately, the general notion of consciousness itself still eludes current research, which is more effective in studying some of its aspects.
