Abstract
Giants, supergiants, dwarfs, white dwarfs—all populate our sky. In spite of their imposing characteristics, the friendly vocabulary eventually makes these stars seem quite normal. With the eye alone, we look upward to find examples of all the brighter classes making our constellations; indeed, we go so far as to give these stars familiar names. And they look serenely down upon us.
