This book focuses on tools and techniques for building valid regression models for real-world data. We shall see that a key step in any regression analysis is assessing the validity of the given model. When weaknesses in the model are identified the next step is to address each of these weaknesses. A key theme throughout the book is that it makes sense to base inferences or conclusions only on valid models .
