Abstract

Picardy is the cradle of gothic art with six splendid cathedrals and numerous churches and abbeys and the home of the stained glass industry. At Amiens there is the largest gothic cathedral in Europe, and the towns of Beauvais, Laon, Senlis, Noyon and Soissons have their massive cathedrals and beautiful old town centres. The five toll booths of the motorway are located between Abbeville and Boulogne on the feeder roads that lead onto the motorway through this historic region.
