Conclusion

Après des années de débats passionnés et contradictoires et à la lumière des séries à long terme et des échecs constatés, il est possible de définir la place de l’arthroplastie unicompartimentale dans l’arthrose fémoro-tibiale interne ou externe. Ceux qui ont l’expérience de cette prothèse savent bien qu’aucune prothèse totale ne peut donner un genou aussi « normal » qu’une prothèse unicompartimentale. Mais les indications restent limitées et de leur respect scrupuleux dépendent la bonne réputation et l’intérêt de cette arthroplastie.
