Abstract
Critical Information Infrastructure constitutes a subset of public and private information systems whose continuing operation is of grave importance to the well being of the society. In view of their importance, the security risks that these information systems face are deemed to be very high; therefore, these systems need to be protected against cyber threats. Governments must undertake action to this end, focusing in five operational areas.
