6.0. Conclusion
The urban environment has long posed difficult challenges for controlling threats to public health. Nonetheless, evidence-based strategies can be developed to advance the health of urban dwellers. This chapter sets a general context for researchers who carry out studies to develop the needed evidence. The examples cited make clear that informative studies can be completed, in spite of the challenges faced in carrying out research in urban settings.
