Abstract
To test the information value of the Vulnerability/Resistance measure, our large college student population offers a broad foundation. We computed Vulnerability/Resistance scores for each of the tens of thousands of students on whom we also had independent data regarding their self-reported use of alcohol and other drugs. The results showed a direct relationship between the propensity measured through mapping and the level of use reported. This relationship is very close on all substances examined, from tobacco to crack cocaine. Naturally, there are some characteristic variations in how the vulnerabilities measured are distributed across the various substances and populations.
