Abstract

According to 1066 and All That (Sellars and Yeatman, 1930), Charles II was a Bad Man but a Good Thing. Gladstone, by contrast, was a Good Man but a Bad Thing. In this paper I want to argue that Sir Karl Popper is like Gladstone. He is a Good Philosopher of Science, but he has been a Bad Thing for the subsequent development of the subject.
