Abstract

The physical properties o aperiodic, but well ordered systems as incommensurate crystal phases and quasicrystals, are in many respects different from those of lattice periodic structures. The usual techniques based largely on the use of the Brillouin zone are no longer applicable. Here a number of approaches of the study of structure, lattice dynamics, electronic structure and transport properties are discussed.
