Abstract
„Teilen ist postmodern und cool, Besitz hingegen ein Auslaufmodell“, meinen Rachel Botsman und Roo Rogers und deuten dabei einen gesellschaftlichen Wandel an, der nicht zuletzt durch die steigende Präsenz des World Wide Web an Bedeutung gewinnt. Die sogenannte „Sharing Economy“ ist dabei nicht nur ein digitales Phänomen. Immer mehr Menschen erkennen den gesteigerten Wert, sich von den Lasten des Besitzes zu verabschieden und Dinge nur dann zu nutzen, wenn sie auch wirklich gebraucht werden. Das Phänomen des „Co-Konsums“, wie es auch genannt wird, erweitert in enormer Geschwindigkeit seine globale Präsenz, verändert dabei nicht nur radikal das Verhalten von Konsumenten, sondern stellt folglich eine große Herausforderung für traditionelle Geschäftsmodelle dar. Trotz der Gefahren bietet diese disruptive Art des Konsums jedoch zugleich neue Wege für Geschäftsmodellinnovation.
