Abstract

Analyses of hair distribution in normal adult controls, in patients with varying defects of androgen synthesis or androgen action, and in women with virilization syndromes have enabled us to elucidate some of the mechanisms involved in androgen-mediated hair growth. These analyses require an understanding of androgen synthesis and action in normal individuals.
