Abstract
Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is the symptomatic compression of the neurovascular structures that traverse the thoracic outlet. Three distinct types exist. Compression of the nerves is by far the most common (95%), while venous (4%) and arterial (1%) remain less frequent. Each of the three types is due to distinct structural causes and presents with different clinical syndromes.
