Multiple Enzyme Forms in Lichens
- D. FahseltAffiliated withDepartment of Plant Sciences, University of Western Ontario
Some aspects of lichen biology are poorly understood. For example, reproductive strategies are essentially unknown. It has been commonly assumed that lichens mainly reproduce asexually and on this basis a relatively high degree of genetic uniformity might be expected. Nevertheless, there is little available evidence pertaining to the genetic structure of lichen populations.
