SEVAL is a high-level special purpose programming language for the validation of input data in an administrative system. This paper describes the essential features of SEVAL. It is claimed that the language considerably simplifies the writing of validation programs. Also an outline of the compiler, which transforms a SEVAL-program into a COBOL-program, is described briefly.
