Zusammenfassung
Der Begriff Gonarthrose beschreibt die Arthrose, d. h. die degenerative, primär nicht entzündliche Erkrankung des Kniegelenks (Reichel 2000). Im angloamerikanischen Sprachraum wird Arthrose auch als Osteoarthritis oder Osteoarthrosis bezeichnet, so dass sich in der deutschsprachigen Literatur teilweise auch der Begriff Osteoarthrose verbreitet hat.
