Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new lightweight 64-bit block cipher, which we call MIBS, suitable for resource-constrained devices, such as low-cost RFID tags. We also study its hardware implementation efficiency, as well as its security. The hardware implementation of MIBS requires 1400 gates on 0.18 μm technology, which is less than 2000 gates limit for low-cost RFID tags. We also show MIBS is secure against differential and linear cryptanalysis.
