Abstract
Processes may be analyzed temporally into subprocesses or spatially into participants. The theoretical analysis of processes and participants is intimately connected with the linguistic analysis of verbs that express the processes and thematic roles that relate the processes to the participants. The resulting classification provides an ontology of concept and relation types that can be used for representing both the semantics of verbs and the axioms for reasoning about the corresponding processes.
