The year 2008 was the 60th anniversary of the founding of primatology in Japan. To celebrate this anniversary, Prof. Tetsuro Matsuzawa and Prof. Juichi Yamagiwa launched a book series in primatology with the cooperation of the Primate Society of Japan, the Primate Research Institute, and the Wildlife Research Center of Kyoto University. The purpose of this series is to publish research developments in all areas of primatology and related fields in which primatologists in Japan have been playing leading roles. Target audiences are graduate students and researchers in primatology as well as other fields such as anthropology, evolutionary biology, ethology, psychology and behavioral science, and zoology.
