Abstract

We study the superconducting properties of the polycrystalline LaNiC2 by means of measuring the electrical resistivity ρ(T), magnetization M(T) and London penetration depth Δλ(T). The superconducting order parameter is analyzed in terms of the low temperature penetration depth Δλ(T) and the corresponding superfluid density ρ s(T), and the results show strong evidence of two-gap Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) superconductivity for LaNiC2.
