Abstract
A software implementation of a changing structure of an industrial power system with switching elements is considered. Such changes are factors in an arbitrary network topology. This is the case of calculation of dynamic conditions, as the power system structure changes in time. One solution to the problem is to assign a switch tree to each branch of a circuit so that it could be enabled or disabled, i.e., open or close the branch. A Boolean algebra is used to describe the rules based on the logical operations AND and OR, where AND corresponds to parallel connection of switches and OR corresponds to series connection. Computer modeling of a power system is preferably carried out by the node potential method. Software implementation of the equations is carried out as a switches tree in UML language. The branches and switches tree are matched at a stage of circuit observation before the nodal potential method is applied. The circuit observation begins with the branch to be matched to the switches tree. The effect of switching elements on the power system structure is considered in the developed algorithm. Rules to open and close branches are described. The influence of the position and state of switches upon enabled or disabled branches is formulated as a set of rules. The algorithms are able to account for repeated processing of a node considered earlier.
