Abstract

We analyzed and compared genetic structures in groups of black-and-white Holstein cattle that differed in dairy productivity and levels of infectiousness with bovine leucosis virus by evaluating the degree of polymorphism in DNA fragments flanked by inverted repeats of two dinucleotide and four trinucleotide microsatellites (ISSR-PCR markers). The spectra of the DNA fragments obtained using primer (AG)9C united the groups of cows with higher dairy productivity, while those based on primers (GA)9C, (GAG)6C, (AGC)6G, and (ACC)6G united the cows infected with bovine leucosis virus, irrespective of their milk yields. The article discusses the indirectness of the links between milk production and the sensitivity of animals to the bovine leucosis virus.
