Abstract

To identify peptides and proteins using mass spectrometry, enzymatic cleavage is performed and mass spectrometric data of the obtained peptides are recorded. Identification of these compounds is realized by using different algorithms and programs for database search or de novo sequencing. The most popular software products and databases are briefly reviewed in the article.
