Abstract
It is shown that the motion of a diatomic molecule in the screw dislocation core can be described by the Frenkel-Kontorova soliton for a displacement of the center of mass of the molecule. The amplitude of such a soliton is completely determined by the relation between the size of the molecule and the dislocation parameters.
