Abstract

This paper discusses a method for computing an index that reflects the rate of changes in the community species structure. This index is illustrated based on the example of the macrophyte community of Vityaz Bay in the Sea of Japan. The mean annual succession rate of this community was estimated as 0.030 day−1.
