Structure formation in a nickel superalloy complexly alloyed with lanthanides

  • Published:
Russian Metallurgy (Metally) Aims and scope

Abstract

The structure-phase state of a deformable Ni-Co-Cr-Al-Ti-W-Mo-Nb nickel superalloy containing microalloying rare-earth additional (lanthanides La, Pr, Nd) in various combinations is studied by physical metallurgy methods. It is found that additional lanthanide-containing intermetallic phases form predominantly along and phase boundaries in the material. The individual influence of the lanthanides on the phase content and the thermophysical properties of the alloy is different.
