Abstract

The first representative of the family Whaitsiidae, Megawhaitsia patrichae gen. et sp. nov., from the terminal Permian of eastern Europe is described. This is a very large predator that appeared in the Vyazniki Tetrapod Assemblage in conditions of large predatory biomorph deficiency.
