We have isolated and characterized the cDNAs encoding the gonadal FSHR and LHR in a protandrous hermaphrodite, the gilthead seabream. The differential expression, distribution and regulation of FSHR and LHR in the ambisexual gonad during the process of sex reversal are addressed.
