Abstract

Specific features of thermal degradation of polystyrene-polydimethylsiloxane blends were studied, and the effect of the organosilicon polymeric additive, polydimethylsiloxane, on the heat resistance of polystyrene was examined. The thermal degradation products were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. A mechanism of the joint pyrolysis was suggested.
