Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund
Abstract
Background
The reduction of fatty tissue for body contouring is a very common desire of patients and liposuction has emerged as the most effective method. By refinements of the technique it nowadays has a very low risk profile in the hands of experienced surgeons. Additional liposuction devices promise a further improvement especially in tissue tightening, however, in recent years many alternative methods have emerged on the market in the non-invasive sector. With these methods an optimized body contouring should be achieved without downtime for the patient.
Objective
This article describes the operative and non-operative methods for primary body contouring, the risks associated with them and the effectiveness.
Methods
This article presents the surgical and non-surgical methods, puts them in order of merit and discusses the advantages and disadvantages as well as the effectiveness based on the literature and personal experience.
Conclusion
Liposuction, in particular the vibration-assisted method using tumescent local anesthesia, is the most effective method of fat reduction but should always be carried out by an experienced surgeon. Non-operative techniques cannot approach the effectiveness of liposuction; however, the synergistic effects of combinations of various procedures are extremely promising.
