Wetenschap is niet waardenvrij. De Nederlandse huisartsen beoefenen hun vak en wetenschap met een zeer expliciete morele waarde als richtsnoer: allereerst: geen schade doen. Dit wordt nogal eens vertaalt als ‘niks doen, tenzij je weet dat het je patiënt voordeel zal brengen’.
