Samenvatting

De NHG-Standaard Diabetes mellitus type 2 ruimt slechts een beperkte plaats in voor DPP-4-remmers. Vooral omdat het bewijs ontbreekt dat deze middelen de cardiovasculaire morbiditeit of mortaliteit verlagen. Deze afwachtende houding lijkt terecht omdat er steeds meer aanwijzingen komen dat patiënten die DPP-4-remmers gebruiken een hogere kans hebben op hartfalen.
