Ich bedanke mich bei den Herausgebern dieses Sonderbands sowie bei der Redaktion der Zeitschrift für Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft (ZfVP) für die Möglichkeit, einen Beitrag zur Debatte um die Stabilität elektoraler Autokratien zu verfassen. Ich nehme diese Möglichkeit sehr gerne wahr, da ich die Arbeit der Debattenteilnehmer gut kenne und in hohem Maße wertschätze. Da die Replik mit der Verleihung des Gero-Erdmann-Preises 2016 für Vergleichende Area-Forschung einhergeht, erlaube ich mir, an der einen oder anderen Stelle auf meine Dissertation hinzuweisen (Gerschewski 2014). Zudem danke ich Steffen Kailitz und Dag Tanneberg für hilfreiche Hinweise.
