Therapeutic efficacy of tuina in treating 48 cases with knee osteoarthritis

Abstract

Objective

To observe the clinical efficacy of tuina in treating knee osteoarthritis (KOA).

Methods

Forty-eight cases with KOA who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled and received tuina therapy. Visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to evaluate pain degree. VAS, range of motion (ROM) and Lysholm score were observed before and after intervention to evaluate the clinical efficacy.

Results

After treatment, VAS score, ROM and Lysholm score were significantly improved, and the total effective rate was 87.5%.

Conclusion

The therapeutic efficacy of tuina in treating KOA was reliable.
