Acknowledgments
We would like to thank the respondents for their interest in our paper. We agree with them that ensuring adequate vitamin, mineral and nutrient supplementation can support good outcomes after all types of bariatric surgery, and that the different surgeries necessitate slightly different approaches to supplementation according to the nutrients malabsorbed. With regard to anaemia as well as vitamin B12 and folate levels in pregnancy, these need to be monitored and supplemented as required. Lastly, as with many other associations involved vitamin D and health, more studies looking into vitamin D and maternal health and neonatal outcomes will be quite useful indeed.
