Wow! It is already time for the last issue of TechTrends for 2016. I hope you have enjoyed the issues of the journal so far this year. I think you will really enjoy this issue. You will find 10 original articles and many of our regular columns. The columns include a message from incoming AECT President, Brad Hokanson; Graduate Member Musings; ICT International; Rethinking Technology & Creativity in the 21st Century; and the issue closes with a book review from Grainne Conole. The articles in this issue begin with Czerkawski and Lyman’s description of their instructional design framework for fostering student engagement in online learning environments. Next, Schrameyer, Graves, Hua, and Brandt provide their synthesis of Online Student Collaboration and FERPA. Ritz and Buss give us a framework for aligning instructional design strategies with affordances of CAVE immersive virtual reality systems. In A Working Model for Complying with Accessibility Guidelines for Online Learning, Cifuentes, Janney, Guerra, and Weir report on their efforts to systematically and systemically address accessibility for online learning. Yadav, Hong, and Stephenson explore pedagogical approaches to embedding 21st century problem solving in K-12 classrooms. Kleinsasser and Hong describe some of the challenges of designing and implementing online group work. Next, Bruso and Stefaniak report on the use of self-regulated learning measure questionnaires as a predictor of academic success. The team of Fox and Cayari consider graduate students’ readiness and perceptions of the pedagogical application of collaborative video logs. Naghdipour and Elderidge presnet a case using Facebook to incorporate social networking sites into traditional pedagogy. The final paper in this issue, by Tawfik, Reeves, and Stitch, is a discussion of intended and unintended consequences of educational technology on social inequality.
