Abstract

The stability of Cu(II)Fe(III)-layered double hydroxide [Cu(II)Fe(III)-LDH] was tested in many solvents (chloroform, acetonitrile, acetone, methanol, ethanol, dichloromethane, dimethyl sulfoxide, N,N-dimethyl-formamide, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, ethyl acetate, toluene, diethyl ether, tetrahydrofuran, 2-propanol, hexane) in a continuous-flow reactor under conditions applicable for a wide range of reactions (temperature: 25–120 °C, pressure: 50 bar, flow rate: 0.5 mL min−1). The structures of the as-prepared and the treated catalyst samples were studied by X-ray diffractometry. The LDH remained structurally unharmed in many solvents even at the highest temperature applied; however, completely free choice was possible only at 25 °C.
