Use of Rhenium-Containing Master Alloy in Melting Single-Crystal Nickel Superalloys

  • Published:
Metallurgist Aims and scope

Melting technology is developed for high-temperature rhenium-containing alloys ZhS32-VI, ZhS36-VI, and ZhS32U-VI in vacuum induction furnaces using a rhenium-containing master alloy MR75. Time parameters are determined for introducing the master alloy during alloy melting. Advantages of using this master alloy are demonstrated compared with rhenium rods.
