Analysis of Multicomponent Systems for the Contents of Iridium and Palladium

  • Published:
Materials Science Aims and scope

The interactions of Ir(IV) with 5-hydroxyimino-4-imino-1,3-thiazolidin-2-one and Pd(II) with 4-[N′ -(4-imino-2-oxo-thiazolidin-5-ylidene)-hydrazino]-benzenesulfonic acid are studied for the first time. The optimal conditions for the formation of these compounds and their metrological characteristics are established. On the basis of the obtained results, some new methods for the evaluation of the contents of iridium and palladium are developed and approved by analyzing the intermetallic compounds (Tb2 Ir 3 Al 9, Gd2 Ir 3 Al 9, Yb40 Pd 40 Ga 20, and Yb40 Pd 38 Sn 22) and a SP5-35B resistor (S r ≤ 0.02).
