Abstract
Four new polymers, [Zn(qda)(phen)]n (1), {[Zn3(qda)3(bpy)2]·2DMF}n (2), {[Cd3(qda)3(phen)2]·H2O}n (3) and {[Cd3(qda)3(bpy)2]·H2O}n (4), (H2qda = Hydroquinone-O, O′-diacetic acid, bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), have been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, FTIR and elemental analysis. Compound 1 exhibits one dimensional zigzag chain and compounds 2–4 show isomorphous two dimension. In addition, photoluminescence for 1–4 have been investigated in the solid state at room temperature.
