Influence of Co doping on the magnetic properties of Bi2Fe4O9 powders

Abstract

Co doped Bi2Fe4O9 powders were synthesized via a simple sol–gel method. The crystal structure of the as-synthesized powders was characterized using X-ray diffraction and Raman spectra. The magnetic properties of the as-synthesized powders were investigated by a SQUID MPMS at 5 K. The results reveal that the calculated lattice parameters of Bi2Fe4O9 decrease and the magnetic properties sharply increase with increasing the content of Co.
