Effect of Thinning Additives in Ceramic Slips on the Corrosion of Gypsum Molds

  • Published:
Glass and Ceramics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

The effect of different thinning agents on the corrosion of gypsum molds is investigated. It is shown that a more than two-fold reduction of the surface corrosion of samples is possible when using phosphate thinners. This will increase the service life of molds and make ceramic manufacture economically more efficient.
