Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund
Abstract
Background
Safe radiological diagnostics and therapy is particularly relevant in dialysis patients due to an increasing life expectancy and multiple comorbidities.
Objective
Analysis of radiological safety aspects in radiological diagnostics and therapy of vascular dialysis access dysfunction.
Results
Safety aspects for radiological diagnostics and treatment in dialysis patients include administration of contrast media, radiation protection and an adequate quality management. Interventional checklists and standardized treatment pathways can improve patient safety in the context of endovascular therapy.
Conclusion
General radiological safety aspects can be transferred to the diagnostics and therapy in dialysis patients with insufficient vascular access in order to maintain functional vascular access for as long as possible.
