Abstract
Traumatic dental injuries mostly exhibit complex situations with respect to different affected tissues, the number of affected teeth and pre-existing damage. A correct and complete diagnosis as well as a structured registration of findings are the key to successful treatment of traumatic dental injuries. Classical investigation methods, such as anamnesis, inspection, palpation, percussion, sensitivity testing and 2D radiography are increasingly being supported by modern techniques, such as dental photography, cone beam volumetric tomography (CBCT) and online guides on dental traumatology.
