Dear reader,

Results from clinical trials are of outstanding importance to generate evidence that may improve clinical care. However, randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs) address different outcomes, although they may deal with the same topic. This makes comparison of results from clinical trials difficult. This problem is addressed by the CROWN Initiative (CoRe Outcomes in WomeN’s health). Please read the following editorial by Khalid Khan, Editor-in-Chief, BJOG who describes the importance of this initiative. The global research community has to be aware of the need of core outcome sets. We encourage researchers to develop core outcome sets. This will accelerate progress because of improved evidence-based practice which will be accumulated in high-quality clinical guidelines.

Sincerely,

O. Ortmann
