During the celebration of the 5th Congress of the European Association of Societies of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (EASAPS), which took place at Istanbul in June 2012, the best works from each society were presented in the Voice of Europe 2012. The Congress was held in the Lutfi Kirdar Convention & Exhibition Center. It was a great success both socially and scientifically. The General Assembly also was celebrated at midday.

Spain was represented by Dr. Jesus Benito Ruiz with the study “Limb Enhancement With Implants.” Representing Portugal, Dr. Jose Carlos Parreira, presented a paper about “Oculoplastic Aesthetic Surgery: Evaluation of the Patient and Direct Surgery.”

“The Impact of Breast Reduction Surgery on the Vertebral Column” was the subject of the Turkish presentation by Dr. Kemal Findikçioglu, which was chosen as the winner of the Hinderer Prize 2012. Before giving the Hinderer Prize, the Scientific Chairman, Dr. Isabel de Benito, gave a lecture to honor the memory of Ulrich Hinderer.

Dr. Dana Jianu from Romania spoke about “Surgical Cervico-Facial -Adipolaser Rejuvenation, a Personal Method: Hystological and Aesthetic Outcomes.” Representing the United Kingdom was Dr. Paul Harris, who presented “Cosmetic Surgery Trends and Economic Indicators-Comparisons Across the Pond.”

A new special prize was introduced for the Junior Section of the Voice of Europe, which recognizes young investigators. On this occasion, the prize was won by Dr. Radu-Ionescu for his work “Stromal Vascular Fraction Isolation Manual Protocol, a Cheap and Easy Way of Controlling the Production of Adipose-Derived Stem Cells.”

The meeting was an interesting and enriching experience for all the participants. We recognize the hospitality extended by the Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
