Mucormycosis following hair transplantation: a rare complication

Abstract

Mucormycosis is a serious, potentially deadly fungal infection that is very rare in immuno-competent healthy patients. Mucormycosis following elective cosmetic procedures such as hair transplantation has never been reported. This case details the symptomatology, modes of diagnosis and treatment of this potentially fatal disease in a patient of hair transplantation.
