Ninni Sernert, RPT, has been appointed an Associate Editor of the Knee Surgery Sports Traumatology and Arthroscopy Journal and will replace Suzanne Werner. At the same time, we would like to thank Suzanne Werner for her outstanding services to the journal.

Ninni has served the journal both as a reviewer and as an Editorial Board Member. She had her RPT examination at the University of Lund in Sweden 1979.

She has been working as a clinical RPT at a county hospital in Sweden, where she became interested in orthopaedics in the late 1980s and became certified Physiotherapy specialist in Orthopaedics in 2002. Under the leadership of Professor Dr. Jüri Kartus and Professor Dr. Jón Karlsson, her thesis was presented in 2002. In 2007, she became associated professor at the Sahlgrenska Academy/University of Gothenburg. At the Institute of Clinical Science at the University of Gothenburg, she is responsible for a PhD course with special focus on assessments in quantitative and qualitative research in health care. Between 2004 and 2008, she worked as director of Research at the Research Institute of Fyrbodal in Uddevalla, Sweden. Through the years, she has been supervisor and co-supervisor to several PhD and Master Students.

Since January 2008, she works at the Research and Development Department at the NU-Hospital Group, Trollhättan, Sweden. Her research group has been awarded numerous awards such as the prestigious Houghton award 2014 and best sports medicine paper at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2013.

Her research focus has been on treatment and evaluation after ACL injuries involving clinical outcome as well as health-related quality life. Another major research focus is the evaluation on instability and impingement of the shoulder. She has published numerous original articles in these areas.

Ninni has been a member of ESSKA since 2006.
