Abstract
The Commission has to be selective in the actions it takes, since it cannot and should not do everything. Selectivity, transparency, high-profile visibility, added value, complementarity with measures taken by the Member States, and partnership with professionals: these are the key concepts in the Community’s work in the field of health as in many other fields.
